"Coming out of the closet" vs. ex-gay

This Washington Times article got me thinking. Why is it that the view that people can "come out of the closet" and go from being straight to being gay is so accepted by liberals, but the idea that people can go from being gay to being straight is met with hostility and rage? Why is becoming gay viewed as "healthy," but becoming straight is viewed as dangerous and the therapy is called "snake oil?" There are many, many people who, after therapy, have become gay. Why can't the opposite happen?

Well, the answer is right in that same article. Read what the PFLAG executive director said:
"Our beliefs are superior."

That statement really says it all and betrays their true agenda.
